Bluebird FM 23-70 Remote Control Mower
Take the physical effort out of cutting steep banks!
The range-topping Bluebird FM 23-70 is a revolutionary, remotely operated rough-cut mower with an extra-low stance that makes it perfect for negotiating low-hanging branches and field-based solar panels.
Its tracked design and high-capacity electric blade motors mean severe slopes and the roughest ground are covered without fuss; its powerful, 452cc Loncin engine and swing-tip blades ensure it will breeze through long-neglected areas of grass, weeds and brush.
Description
Even the most hardened landscaping professionals are certain to be impressed with this cutting-edge, remote-controlled rough-cut bank mower from Bluebird Industries.
The seriously impressive, 35° climbing capability of the Bluebird FM 23-70 Scythe Mower is thanks to its combination of wide, high-grip rubber tracks with twin, 800w electric drive motors – it will haul itself up muddy inclines without slipping or sliding, while also taking adverse flat ground in its stride. The blade motors are independently controlled, so you’ll be able to execute time saving zero-turn manoeuvres.
The Bluebird FM 23-70 flail blades will devour the sort of thick, overgrown grass and dense, well-established scrub that would prove too much for a lower spec, rotary-blade machine to handle. The blades’ swing-tip design ensures costly – and potentially terminal – transmission damage is avoided, should they strike an unseen solid object.
A safety optimising slope sensor stops the blade should the 45° maximum be exceeded; an adjustable height of cut – with a range from 30 to 120mm – and a three-speed drive confer excellent flexibility of use.
A great alternative to walk-behind mowers, the remotely operated Bluebird FM 23-70 means you won't suffer issues with vibration affecting operating hours, and you don't have to traipse through bracken and bramble, or navigate difficult terrain. With a remote control range of up to 200m you can just pick a spot with a good view of the subject area, and stay there until the job’s done!
Power for this model comes from a large displacement, 452cc four-stroke overhead-valve motor from Loncin.

Features
Cut on Banks up to 45 Degrees
You can safely cut vegetation up to 45 degrees; after a safety device will stop the engine and blade from spinning. This is to ensure that should the machine ever topple over the blade will not continue to run.
Free Swinging Blade Tips
The cutting blade of the FM 23-70 has free swinging tips at the end that offer protection for blade should the mower encounter an immovable object whilst cutting dense undergrowth. This is a standard but excellent feature for protecting your machine.
Powerful Petrol Engine
A 9.2kw engine provides the cutting power to the blade. This substantial engine makes light work of dense green vegetation and will cut saplings, brambles and bracken. The size of the FM 23-70 also offers assitance when mowing as it pushes over material for it to be cut by the blade.
200m Remote Control Range
Remote control mowers offer excellent operator safety by allowing the user to be in a separate area whilst the machine does its work. Furthermore the mower can be used in difficult areas such as orchards and under solar panels where operators would find it difficult to safely work a hand held machine.
Remote Control Start Up
All the operations for controlling the mower are carried out by the operator using the hand held remote control box and you quickly realise how little effort is required to operate the mower. Whether you are cutting grass or dense brush, the operator input is the same and involves very little physical work.
3 Speed Settings
A useful feature is to be able to control the speed of the mower; with 3 separate options to suit the different densities of the vegetation you are cutting.
